Inspired by the surrealist game Exquisite Corpse, and Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, Exquisite Human challenges 'perfect proportions' by celebrating the beauty of individuality and the diversity that makes us human. The Vitruvian Man informed the graphic language used in the animations, helping encourage festival goers to become co-creators, leaving their mark on the installation and blurring the lines between artist and observer.

I was in charge of designing and animating the UI overlay and CTA screens.
As the final screens were LED screens, the lines had to be thickened to ensure they didn’t fall and disappear between the lights.

The UI had a dual purpose – it had a living hold (or what we kept referring to as “screensaver”) to catch the audience’s attention, and once someone stood in front of the camera, the main information UI was triggered to walk them through the steps. The UI was rendered in different sections and layers for maximum flexibility, and they were handed off to Touch Designer programmers.

The CTA quickly informed the audience about the project and how to be part of it.
