Naoko is an LA-based Motion Designer, Animator, and Art Director with a BFA in Design and Motion Graphics from the School of Visual Arts.

Naoko is a Tokyo-born creative who spent her formative years in New York. After nearly 15 years working in NY, she relocated to Los Angeles, drawn to the expansive landscapes of the West Coast.

Since graduating in 2014, Naoko has worked as a freelance motion designer, collaborating with clients including Apple, BNS, Coinbase, DIA, Google, Trollbäck, and Scholar. She specializes in animation, design, and building toolkits in After Effects, combining technical precision with a strong visual sensibility.

Beyond client work, Naoko explores a more experimental practice. She spends time in the darkroom developing photography – often focusing on architecture and fleeting, abstract moments – and experimenting with alternative photographic processes. She is also an avid museum-goer and architecture enthusiast, and can often be found skiing during the winter season.
